Oh Netflix, the patron saint of cosy television, you never let us down. Not only do you spoil us with a wealth of original content (we're talking about you Narcos), but you also refresh your catalogue every month, quickly filling the Netflix shaped holes in our lives when we reach the end of a series. With most week nights (and weekends, who are we kidding) spent binge-watching Netflix, the excitement when we get the 'Netflix New Releases' email is so real, so you better clear the schedule girl, because Netflix has got some killer new releases lined up for us this November. As if we needed any more of an excuse to stay in this weekend!

We've compiled and listed our top ten movies and series recently added to Netflix for the month of November, so now you really have no reason to complain that there's no movies to watch on Netflix now, because there's a certain new Netflix release that's starring Ryan Gosling and ends in 'Land' that could quite possibly make it into the best movies on Netflix list...yes really.

From all time classics to new release movies, Netflix's November releases have something to offer everyone, so cancel your weekend plans, stock up on popcorn and get stuck into Netflix's new releases and binge-watch the weekend away... 

1. When Harry Met Sally - 1st November

The 1989 old school classic starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal  that puts the rom in com never gets old, does it? And we've got a feeling that the film famous for 'that' scene and for telling us that men and women can never really be 'just friends' will fast become one of our go-to Sunday night Netflix movies of choice. 

2. Men in Black 2 - 1st November

The legend that is Will Smith returns in the sequel to the sci-fi comedy blockbuster Men in Black, which follows Earth's interstellar police force attempting to bring otherworldly villains to justice. If watching agents in Ray-Bans run around shooting aliens into goo is your thing, then tuck into this Netflix movie classic this November. 

3. Alvin and the Chipmunks - 1st November

Beat the winter blues and fall in love with Alvin, Simon and Theodore, the cheekiest chipmunks to ever exist this November. Chipmunks aren't just for kids, so pop this family classic on and sing along to some very high-pitched voices singing a rap version of 'Witch Doctor' this November for a feel-good, cheesy movie that will leave you smiling from ear-to-ear. 

4. From Dusk 'Til Dawn - 1st November

This 1996 Quentin Tarantino action horror classic follows two criminals and their hostages unknowingly seeking temporary refuge in a bar which they later discover to be populated by a coven of vampires and they need to fight until dawn to get out of the place alive!

5. The Vampire Diaries: Season 8 - 1st  November

The vampires are back for an astonishing eighth series of the oh-so-popular supernatural drama, which if the other 7 series are anything to go by, we're sure will be bursting with action, drama, heartbreak, plot twists, spells, love and lots of blood! Season 8 is the last ever season of Vampire Diaries (*sobs*),so maybe don't binge-watch this one, as there's no more to go around!

6. 6 Days - 3rd November

This real-life hostage Netflix thriller about the 1980 siege of the Iranian embassy in London by armed gunmen follows a tense six day standoff, while elite British SAS soldiers prepare for a dangerous raid. 

7. La La Land - 8th November 

Some named it the best movie of the year, others the worst, but whether you loved it or hated it, you can't deny the hype and hysteria that surrounded the most talked about film of 2017. La La Land scooped a record breaking 14 Oscar nominations and features our two faves Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, so give it a watch this November and decide for yourself!


8. Girl with a Pearl Earring - 12th November

With an all star line-up, this 2003 movie follows a 17th-century young servant working in the houser of painter Johannes Vermeer, who later goes on to become his talented assistant and the model for one of his most famous works: Girl with a Pearl Earring. With Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson, this movie is not to be missed. 


9. Hackshaw Ridge - 22nd November

Hackshaw Ridge follows the true story of WWII American army medic Desmond T.Doss who refuses to kill people during the bloodiest battle of WWII and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honour without firing a single shot. Watch the story of this brave medic who saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun this 22nd November!


10. The Martian - 25th November

This 2015 science fiction movie following Matt Damon as an astronaut who becomes stranded on Mars after his crew assume him dead after a fierce storm and leave him behind. He has to rely on ingenuity, wit and spirit to find a way to signal to Earth that he's alive. This movie will have you feeling all kinds of tense and is heading to Netflix on 25th November, so don't miss it!
